Estelle Peter

Prior to co-founding Bate & Peter Architects, Estelle built a diverse and considered body of experience within several of Melbourne’s leading design practices, including Chamberlain Architects & Interiors and Grant Amon Architects. While at Grant Amon Architects, she contributed to the Design Team for the Victorian Pride Centre, gaining deep insight into the intricacies of a major civic commission and strengthening her thoughtful, people-focused design approach.
Her work across residential, cultural and commercial projects sparked a commitment to delivering high-quality, thoughtfully resolved architecture. This led her to establish an independent studio focused on guiding clients toward enduring, design-led outcomes. Through this practice she delivered and oversaw numerous residential projects, honing her strengths in communication, management, design resolution and site coordination, expertise she carried into the co-founding of Bate & Peter Architects.
Estelle holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Queensland and a Master of Architecture from Monash University, where she received the ARBV Professional Practice Award. She has studied Architecture both locally and abroad, including Brisbane, Melbourne and Japan, and maintains a strong involvement in architectural education, teaching and critiquing at both the University of Melbourne and Monash University.
